Alberto Castro Leñero
ACL.- Yes, it has been a growing process. At the beginning, in the mid-eighties, I started to integrate abstract elements, geometric forms, lines that formed a very primitive net into my figurative work. This net, on one hand, became more complex, more predominant in my work, until it became a double of the human form. On the other hand, the structure began to take on tri-dimensionality until it came out of the painting and became a geometric structure. This net based on straight lines started to undergo another mutation: the lines took on an organic feel, the straight line evolved into sinuous, vegetable or bony forms, which generated another family of sculptural shapes. Finally, these processes crisscross and contaminate one another, forming hybrid works.
