Lo Spazio Dentro represents the goal I’ve been pursuing for long time as the meeting of my life’s foundation which is spiritual practice, and my passion and love for art with a lifelong career in major museums in Mexico and Miami.
Throughout many years as curator and assistant director at the Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes, as well as exhibition director and curator at the Museo Nacional de Arte, both in Mexico City, I had the opportunity to learn in a direct experience about the capacity of art to touch people from diverse backgrounds providing nurturing and meaningful experiences.
In 2007 I met my spiritual master, Daniel Odier. My whole life and career turned intensely inward toward the dismantling of my entire worldview. The congruence with my consciousness became far more important than holding a position and my projects since then were focused on creating a shared experience of joy rather than to impose a point of view. The practice became my foundation and from there my research found resonance in my deepest wish to interact from absolute love.
Some projects gave me the guidelines to develop a methodology to work in the curatorial field toward the accuracy with reality and the enrichment of the content of an exhibition. The interdisciplinary interaction and the practice of listening became the foundation of my work. I based the methodology on interactive talks with content creators being myself the organizer of information. I learned to open spaces for others to interact and kept my work as a connecting nucleus, realizing that the construction of reality is very far from having an authorship. The resulting projects gained important recognition due to their originality and diversity of ideas. My late career has taken me to found a non-profit organization, The ANT Project, to support the creative process of artists through interaction among them. I have the certainty that a horizontal structure of interaction can create a unified field among the participants, strengthening the individuals and the community as well.
Lo Spazio Dentro is the first independent exhibition in collaboration with Silvia Burli to acknowledge art in the context of spirituality. The realization of this project has already brought invaluable revelations about the meeting of spiritual practice and creative process from the experience of the participant artists.
