Interconnectivity
IKT / The Ant Project
Miami Program
September 9, 10am to 1pm
Mexican Cultural Institute of Miami
The Ant Project has proudly been granted the Harald Szeemann grant from IKT, International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art, to host the Miami program as part of the 2021 IKT hybrid Congress. In times where interconnection has been the cornerstone of resilience, we celebrate the collective force in our local community through an in-person workshop aimed at listening to your curatorial projects and locating connective points in the work of the content creators of the community.
The Ant Project, defined as a horizontal structure of interaction inspired by the collective intelligence of ants, connects individuals who, operating in tandem with one another, achieve remarkable goals that would otherwise be impossible for a single member on their own. In the Miami IKT Interconnectivity Workshop we will share reflexions and experiences arising from a moment when all of our previously known patterns have been radically changed or, in some instances, completely dissolved. It is through this force of collective interaction that we reinvent our relationship to the surrounding environment, finding fresh visions and approaches to common circumstances.
The event will be hosted in partnership with the Mexican Cultural Institute of Miami, within the context of the exhibition Matter of Distance / Cuestión de Distancia, curated by Guadalupe García and produced by The Ant Project.
